70 Years of Swedish Automotive History

You can learn all about seventy years of Swedish car history at the Saab Car Museum. The first, original Saab is here of course, joined by a fine collection of standard cars, prototypes and rally cars from the 1940s onwards. Find out about the history of technology and design and meet enthusiastic Saab veterans. Don’t miss the shop, but be careful - you may take home more souvenirs than you bargained with.

The Saab Spirit Is Stronger Than Ever

Every year, Saab Car Museum in Trollhättan attracts visitors from around the world who are fascinated by the iconic car brand born in this Swedish city. With the special exhibition The Box, running from 6 June to 30 September 2026, the museum will showcase more Saab cars at one time than ever before.

From Two-Stroke to Turbo

The museum’s collection spans from the original Saab prototype of 1946 to the very last cars produced before Saab’s bankruptcy in 2011. In between lies a remarkable journey through automotive innovation, design and motorsport history. During your visit, you can explore two-stroke engines, turbo technology, racing cars and fascinating concept vehicles that never reached mass production.

Major Exhibition: The Box

Summer 2026 will be especially exciting for anyone interested in Saab automobiles. During this period, Saab Car Museum will temporarily move into Nova Arena to present the special exhibition The Box.

From 6 June to 30 September, visitors will have the rare opportunity to see more Saab vehicles gathered in one place than ever before. The Box offers a unique chance to experience what is widely regarded as the world’s finest Saab collection in a format unlikely to be repeated in the foreseeable future.

Please note that this temporary relocation means that Saab Car Museum will be completely closed during May and October 2026. Up-to-date information about both The Box and Saab Car Museum, including admission prices and opening hours, can be found on the museum’s website.

Food and Refreshments

Ice cream, coffee and light refreshments are available inside The Box exhibition at Nova Arena. For visitors looking for a more substantial meal, several cafés and restaurants can be found nearby.
