Welcome to Halle- and Hunneberg

At the southern tip of Lake Vänern, just east of Vänersborg, the enchanting twin mountains Halleberg and Hunneberg rise about 155 metres above sea level. The mountains are separated by a valley approximately 500 metres wide. Along the dramatic mountain slopes, gnarled oak trees thrive, and in the deep ravines the ground is covered with carpets of wild garlic.

Both mountains carry a long history, and almost everywhere you can find traces of the lives of the people of Västergötland through the millennia. The area offers varied nature and rich outdoor recreation with 80 kilometres of hiking trails.
