You never know what kind of a show nature is going to put on for you when you sleep in a cabin with glass walls. It could be a great tit sitting on the roof, an incredible starry night, two curious deer peeping in, or that total stillness you can only find in a forest. Watching nature from inside a glass cabin has its charm whatever the time of day or night.

The glass cabin has no electricity but a cosy paraffin lamp lights up the evenings, and down quilts will keep you nice and warm.

Some of the things that make the accommodation climate smart:

• Solar panels, and any other electricity comes from green providers.
• Water from their own well.
• Composting, waste sorting and eco-friendly cleaning products.

At Erikson Cottage you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, with a range of activities to choose from, some more pulse raising than others.

Paddling

A short walk from the cabin lies Lake Lagmanshagasjön, where there are two kayaks and two SUPs to borrow. Explore the idyllic surroundings from the water.

Walking

There are lots of lovely forest trails perfect for walks, runs, or longer hikes.

Wood fired hot tub

Enjoy some time in the open air in the wood fired hot tub. Stays in Glashus Sjön include a private wood fired sauna.

At Erikson Cottage you’ll always eat good food based on sustainable cuisine and locally produced ingredients. There’s also a certified artisan bakery on the farm which you’ll see as soon as you arrive, when you’ll be welcomed with a fika in the farm cafe. Breakfast and dinner are delivered to the glass cabins by electric moped or electric car. 

This is where the food served comes from:

• Erikson Cottage’s signature sourdough bread is of course baked on site, using organic heritage grain from the Västgöta plain.
• Vegetables are from local growers.
• Meat comes from nearby farms.

Erikson Cottage is less than two hours away from Gothenburg and you can get here with low carbon emissions.

Train

The "Coast to Coast" trainline runs between Gothenburg and Kalmar/Karlskrona. About 20 minutes from Erikson Cottage lie two train stations, Limmared and Hestra, where you’ll be picked up by the accommodation’s electric car. This means that you can travel by train from for example Stockholm or Copenhagen in around five hours with just one change.

Own electric car

You can charge your own electric car on the farm. The power is provided by their own solar energy and green electricity.
