Vetteberget/Kungsklyftan
Fjällbacka

High above Fjällbacka rises Vetteberget, from the top of which there is a fantastic view of both the islands off the coast and the mainland.

Vetteberget

High above Fjällbacka rises Vetteberget, from whose highest point you have a fantastic view of both the archipelago and the mainland. The mountain is divided into Big and Little Vetteberget by the distinctive Kungsklyftan, with its large wedged‑in boulders forming the “roof.”

Kungsklyftan

Scenes from Ronja Rövardotter were filmed here. Ramneklovan, or Kungsklyftan, received its current name after a visit by King Oscar II in 1887, who signed his name on the rock wall at the northern entrance.

Kungsklyftan is part of the Vetteberget Trail, which in turn is part of the Coastal Path (Kuststigen).
The Vetteberget Trail is an urban circular route that takes you up Vetteberget and around the village. Follow the blue trail markers across the mountain. You’ll get the chance to see both old Fjällbacka and the newer parts.

Multiple route options

In the area, several paths are available with varying terrain, difficulty levels, and lengths.
A suitable starting point is Ingrid Bergman’s Square, where you can enjoy something to eat or drink after your hike.

How to get here

From the E6, take the Grindmotet exit and follow road 163 toward Fjällbacka.
The mountain is located in the center of the village and can be reached via stairs from Ingrid Bergman’s Square.

Kuststigen is a network of coastal hiking trails and loops along the Bohuslän coast. It consists of both longer connected stages and separate circular routes, offering a wide variety of coastal experiences.
