Passenger Ferries

DYRÖN - RÖKAN - RÖRTÅNGEN and vice versa, line 326
From Rökan just before Marstrand, you can take the ferry to Dyrön and back year-round. Year-round traffic for Västtrafik. Buses to/from Kungälv and Gothenburg always connect to these trips, see more at vasttrafik.se

If you hop on the ferry at Rörtången, you'll have a delightful trip all the way via Rökan to Dyrön. Make a stop at Dyrön and then return the same way.

KOÖN - MARSTRAND

The Marstrand ferry departs regularly around the clock between Koön and Marstrand and takes only 2 minutes. Late evenings and nights require ferry pre-booking. The ferry ride from Marstrand is free of charge.

The municipality of Kungälv is responsible for ferry traffic between Koön and Marstrand. Those solely using the ferry can purchase one-way tickets, monthly passes, or annual cards. Additionally, Västtrafik's period tickets, school cards, and senior cards for zone B are valid fare on the ferry.

Tickets can also be purchased on-site at the blue ferry booth at the ferry terminal.

GULLHOLMEN & KÄRINGÖN

Line 381 takes you from Tuvesvik to Gullholmen and Käringön every day of the year. The ferry takes 10 minutes to Gullholmen and 45 minutes to Käringön. Here's the timetable. On the ferry, Västtrafik's account charging applies, and tickets can be purchased onboard or via Västtrafik's app to-go.

ÅSTOL & DYRÖN

Line 361 takes you from Rönnäng pier to Åstol and Dyrön every day of the year. The ferry takes 15 minutes to Åstol and 20 minutes to Dyrön's northern harbor. Here's the timetable. On the ferry, Västtrafik's account charging applies, and tickets can be purchased onboard or via Västtrafik's app to-go.

HÄRÖN

Line 362 takes you from Kyrkesund to Härön every day of the year. Here, you'll have a short 5-minute trip across the strait on Tjörn's smallest ferry, accommodating a maximum of 12 passengers. Parking is located at Linnevikens bathing area, approximately a 10-minute walk from the ferry. Here's the timetable. LILLA BRATTÖN

In Hakefjorden between Stenungsund and Tjörn lies the small island of Lilla Brattön. During summer, you can reach the island via M/S Granita from Almön.

Car Ferries

For islands accessible by car, you can use the Swedish Transport Administration's toll-free road ferries. The ferries in Orust are cable ferries powered by electricity.

SVANESUND ROUTE takes you between Kolhättan in Stenungsund and Svanesund on Orust.

MALÖ ROUTE takes you out to Malö from Fröjdendal. From Malö, there's a bridge to Flatö and Ängön. From there, you can take the next ferry upwards to Fruvik.

ÄNGÖ ROUTE, from Fruvik to Ängön.

LYR ROUTE, from Lyresten, you can take the road ferry to the beautiful island of Lyr.
