Fishing in Borås
Fishing is a relaxing and wonderful way to experience nature. In Borås there are many places for those who want to fish and several lakes have nice jetties to fish from.
Free fishing in the centre
In some lakes and waterways in Borås, fishing is free, and you therefore do not need a fishing license to fish there.
Municipal fishing license
The municipal fishing license gives you the opportunity to fish in more than 100 lakes. Children under the age of 15 often fish freely, but you must read up on what applies to the lake you want to fish in.
Municipal fishing license costs SEK 600 (incl. VAT) and is valid for one year from the date of purchase. A monthly card costs SEK 200 (incl. VAT) and is valid for one month from the date of purchase.
The City of Borås also offers companies buying one or more municipal fishing licenses to lend them to employees as a wellness benefit. The fishing license is issued in the name of the company and is therefore not personal. Read more about municipal fishing licences for businesses here.

Winter fishing
During the winter there is the possibility of ice fishing. Though keep in mind that it is very important that you know what applies to winter fishing so that you do not injure yourself.
