In the shop you’ll find both edible products from Gunnebo and everything from garden tools to toys, all organic.

Here’s an interesting fact! Leftover cinnamon buns are ground down to flour which is then used to make crispy cinnamon bun biscuits the next day.

Gunnebo for children

Go on a Digital Quiz Trail in lovely surroundings, with ten questions to puzzle out about Gunnebo.

At the Lantgården Farm there are Hedemora hens, Gotland rabbbits and Swedish Blue ducks. You’ll also find stilts, skipping ropes and a play hill with a mini version of Gunnebo House.

At Kaffehus och Krog you can get children’s portions of the day’s lunch special, or fika with freshly baked buns and home made cordial.

Mölndals stadsmuseum

In Öppna magasinet (Open depository), at Mölndals stadsmuseum, everyday items mingle with photos, stories, and thought provoking questions. You can reflect over your and others’ history here.

Pure Filth – From Dirty Sweden to the Clean Girl | Exhibition

Just next to Mölndals museum in Kvarnbyn is Returum Second Hand, with reasonably priced books, clothes, household items and electronics. The focus is on re-use and giving both things and people a second chance.

Take a trip to Jonsered and Lerum

In the area around River Säveån and Lake Aspen, just 12 minutes by train from Gothenburg’s Central Station, you’ll find the Jonsered industrial heritage area, and a few minutes away the town of Lerum, where garden experiences, microbreweries, good food and hiking in lovely varied nature await.

Beer, Food and Fika

From Jonsered’s station follow the signs to Jonsered Herrgård. At the top of the hill, overlooking Lake Aspen, lie both Jonsered Manor with its lovely gardens, and a café. The majority of what is served consists of locally produced and organic ingredients, which vary with the seasons. Dogs are welcome in the gardens, in the Lilla Trädgårdsbutiken garden shop and the café’s outdoor seating area, but not in the café.

Poppels Brewery in Jonsereds Fabriker, is a little local brewery with superb craftsmanship. Right next door is Poppels Öl & Mat, a restaurant where the menu is composed around the best possible matches between beer and food. On Saturdays you can book beer tastings and brewery tours.

Brödfabriken in Jonsered is an artisan bakery which can boast awards for West Sweden’s best bun (2025) and Gothenburg’s tastiest semla (2026). Buy something to take on your walk along the Gotaleden Trail or sit down and enjoy a fika right there.

Jonsereds Gardens

Next to the manor lie the award winning Jonsereds Gardens, which have been recreated with their historic heritage from the 19th century in mind. You’ll meet everything from traditional summer flowers and perennials to austere privet hedges and arbours of sweetly scented rose bushes.

Stay the night

At the heart of Jonsereds Fabriker lies Gibsons Hotell, where you get the best of both worlds. Proximity to the city but also the peace of the countryside, with lots of lovely nature to explore.

Shopping in Jonsered

Jonsered’s Butik Botanik and Jonsered's Butik Fabrik offer a carefully curated selection of plants, garden accessories and home décor. Botanik is located by Jonsered Gardens, while Fabrik can be found in the historic mill buildings.

At Jonsered Coffee Roastery, small batches of speciality coffee are roasted using beans sourced from dedicated and passionate growers around the world.

Just a short 500-metre walk from Jonsered Fabriker, Byns Deco is a charming vintage shop where you can browse for unique treasures and beautiful interior pieces.

Växtrum in Lerum

Two station stops away lies the town of Lerum and Växtrum in Lerum, which is a unique collection of ten different gardens, designed by a selection of influential Swedish garden designers. All the gardens can be reached within a walking distance of 3.6 kilometres.

Hiking tour from Jonsered

Two of West Sweden’s loveliest hiking trails go through Jonsered. The first is the Gotaleden, a 99 kilometre long trail between Gothenburg and Vårgårda. Beautiful nature, close to town pit stops and proximity to train stations characterise the trail. Stage 4 starts in Jonsered, a pretty but slightly challenging 10 kilometre stretch ending in Lerum.

The other trail is the Bohusleden, and stage 5 between Jonsered in Partille and Angereds Church in Gothenburg. The stage is 12 kilometres of challenging walking.
