Joint hiking at a leisurely pace
Stora Grötlunken is a joint walk at a leisurely pace after the evening meal, which often consisted of porridge with prunes. The summer tourists started off from the inn, Rågårdsviks Pensionat, which still forms the heart of Rågårdsvik. There are no signs, but not so many roads to choose from either. It is hard to get lost. You will always find your way back to Rågårdsviks Pensionat.
Stora Grötlunken
Walk along Asperanvägen up the hill and keep on walking. After Aspernavägen, when the road splits, you can turn left past the roadblock and continue Stora Grötlunken. Keep walking till you see a wooden sign saying Grötlunken. The sign points left to a path. Follow the path down to the bay and further along the water line to a meadow. At the end of the meadow you will end up on Skallhavsvägen which goes along Skallhavet, on the left side of the road further ahead. Skallhavsvägen changes names into Valbyvägen and it will take you up to the main road. Continue up to the road and turn right towards the village centre again. Stora Grötlunken is 3.2 km.
At the meadow on Stora Grötlunken you can make a little detour of 350 meters to reach the small harbour in Skallhavet. Just follow the grassy path. Stora Grötlunken with a detour is a total of 4 km.

How to get here:
By bus to Rågårdsvik (Västtrafik 845) get off at the bus stop Rågårdsviks Pensionat right at the start and finish of Grötlunken.
There are parking spaces down at the harbour, but during the summer it is very limited. During low season, there is plenty of space, but keep in mind that the harbour easily gets flooded with heavy rain and strong winds from the south.
