Difficult nature trail in the rocky landscape of Ösö
Skuddevigeleden is a difficult nature trail up and down the rocks on Ösö, but with a breathtaking view of the sea and the archipelago outside. The Skuddevig nature trail connects Skutevik and the trail out towards Hårsäckan. It is well marked with white painted dots on the rock and is about 1.2 km long. It takes about half an hour to walk. You can walk the trail from both directions, but the easiest is to follow the markings from Skuddevigevråa in Kyrkevik. Halfway from Grundsund church towards Grundsunds Marina is the locally named place Skuddevigevråa with benches and a permanent guest who changes appearance with the seasons.
Exciting hike past a crack cave
Follow the well-trodden path up towards Skuddevigemyra. The pond (actually two) is popular for skating in winter, when it freezes. The marking with white dots begins on the way up to the pond. First you pass between the two ponds and about 300 meters from the start you can make a small detour to Trolle Stöva (Tolle Stuga no.86, coordinates 646244/124202). It is an open block cave / crack cave. Two entrances lead into the cave room. At the cave's eastern entrance there are treacherous holes in the cave floor.
Breathtaking view of the archipelago
The path continues up over the rocks. The trail has been partially redesigned to be more accessible. The white dots are painted on the rocks and the trail offers a magnificent view of the fairway, the archipelago and the sea. Suddenly, after about 800 meters, the path splits into two parts. The one closest to the sea is the easiest and the one leading from the sea is a slightly more difficult detour up and down the rocky mountain. The two choices unite after a while. The path ends on the trail out to Hårsäckan, where you can go for a swim if the waves are calm or choose to go directly to the houses near Ärtekällan below Påskefyrsberget in Grundsund.
