Grazing land & meadow

On the eastern side of Kinnekulle lies this small nature reserve, where a 3-kilometre walking trail passes through pastures and hay meadows, creating beautiful, leafy surroundings.

Quick Facts

Length: 3 km

Time: 50 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Facilities: There are no barbecue facilities, benches or toilets along the trail.

The trail passes through lush pastures with ancient oak and lime trees and continues through a hay meadow. During the warmer months, cowslips, common twayblades and early purple orchids come into flower. In several places, old scars in the ground reveal where alum shale was once quarried by previous generations. These traces are now protected as ancient monuments. The nature reserve depends on grazing, which means that cattle and sheep may be present in the area at certain times of the year.

A Walk with Something for the Whole Family

Törnsäterrundan is an area that sparks curiosity in both children and adults. The ancient oak trees, flowering hay meadows and grazing animals bring the landscape to life and make the walk an enjoyable experience. The protected ancient monuments along the trail add an element of discovery that children will enjoy exploring along the way.
