On the Traneberg trail you hike in the archipelago and there is a great chance to see different seabirds along the trail but also to see game in the forests. On the promontory at Sundvassholmen there is a bird protection area that must not be accessed during April 1st to July 31st. Along the hike you pass several old crofts and many historical sites, including Skeppstaviken which was Traneberg's port and cargo site during the 18th and 19th centuries.
If you want to stay overnight this is not a problem, about 2 km into the trail there is a nice windshield with associated barbecue area. From May 1st to September 30th there is free firewood here.
If you want to do a shorter route you can choose to walk only the northern loop which is 6,2 km long. At the start of the trail there is an outdoor gym and a don't-touch-the-ground-park for children.
