A great way to experience the kosterhavet national park is to go hiking. There are several nature reserves adjent the park. Marked trails can be found on the Koster Islands, Rossö, Saltö, Norra Långön, Resö and Väderöarna.

Kosteröarna – The passenger boats Kosterbåtarna depart several times a day for our most westerly nature reserve. On both North Koster and South Koster there are marked hiking trails. They take you through dim pine forests and deciduous groves, across heaths and bare rock and down to damp seashore meadows. Read more.
Västra Rossö och Kockholmen – a nature reserve located around 15 km south of Strömstad. Coastal walks through a natural landscape. You can easily get to beaches on Rossö and the Kockholmen peninsula by car or bicycle. This is one of the county's most popular nature reserve for swimming, fishing and hiking. Here you can walk among gnarled pines, grazed grasslands and sandy and rocky beaches, where you can find the rare oysterplant, among other things. The geology is interesting, with bedrock made up primarily of granite that in Kockholmen is intersected by a wide rhomb porphyry dyke.
At the Rossö entrance (Rossö harbor) there is an exhibition of the marine diversity of Kosterhavet and of how life on the coast has been influenced by the proximity to the sea. There is also a café here.

Saltö – a nature reserve located about 15 km south of Strömstad. Coastal walks through a natural landscape. This is one of the county's most popular nature reserve for swimming, fishing and hiking. The terrain on Saltö is hilly, with rocks and long valleys. But there are plenty of easily walked paths that run back and forth across the island. You can walk around here in everything from ramrod straight pine forests and sandy beaches to weather-beaten flat rocks and shingle fields.
Nord Långö - a nature reserve located in the archipelago northwest of Strömstad. The island is a lively summer visited recreational area. A well-developed system of trails make it easy to reach view points and beaches. On the western and northern side of the island's most baths.

Resö - At Resö you will find Entré Resö, which is the southern gateway to the Kosterhavet National Park. Entré Resö is adjacent to the harbor and there you will find information about the national park. If you are at Resö in the spring and want to see a lot of Hepatica flowers, take a walk around Rössnäs on the eastern side of the island.

Väderöarna - Väderöarna is a marine nature reserve comprising 99% water. Together with the adjoining Kosterhavet, Storö-Ramnö is part of Väderöarna Nature Reserve, with
the exception of an area around the buildings.
