BBQ Areas and Shelters on Billingen

Billingen offers several popular barbecue areas, some of which also feature shelters. Whether it's a sunny summer evening with a view over the city or a crisp autumn day in the forest, a trip to one of Billingen’s barbecue spots is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors.

Want to ensure you have firewood? You can easily purchase a bag of firewood inside Billingecenter and pay via Swish. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring your own. Firewood boxes at the shelters are refilled every weekend, but they tend to run out quickly. (Tip! 8 logs provide approximately 2 hours of grilling time.)

Allemansrätten - The Right of Public Access

You make use of the right of public access when you go for a walk in the forest, go climbing or just sit on a rock and think. Usually it is completely natural for us. In order for everyone to enjoy nature, we need to take care of nature and wildlife and show consideration for landowners and others who are outdoors. We can sum this up with the phrase ”Don’t disturb – don’t destroy”.

Keep in Mind

If you make a fire, you are responsible for putting it out completely.

  • Let the fire burn down entirely before leaving.
  • Extinguish it properly, preferably with water, and stir the ashes to ensure all embers are out.
  • Do not throw non-burnable waste into the fire.
  • A barbecue area is not a place for trash—use designated bins or take your waste with you.
